Who We Are

We partner with food banks, food pantries, and local food programs to bring food to people facing hunger. We advocate for policies that create long-term solutions to hunger. In a country that wastes billions of pounds of food each year, it's almost shocking that anyone in America goes hungry. Yet every day, millions of our neighbors don't get the food they need to live healthy lives. We work to get nourishing food and other essentials – from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers – to our neighbors while addressing the root causes of hunger.
Our programs reach children, seniors, and families of the Greater Los Angeles area, no matter where they live or spend time. At senior centers or schools, in the city or countryside, Sewa Pantry programs get food to people where they are and when they need it most.
